Program Overview

The Executive Master's in Leadership – Greece (EML–G) is an AACSB-accredited graduate degree program offered by Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business in Athens, Greece, developed in collaboration with PPC Group. The curriculum focuses on advanced leadership competencies, public policy, and strategic management, with particular emphasis on the economic transformations, institutional changes, and energy transition dynamics affecting Greece and the broader Southeast European region.

Program Structure

  • Format and Duration: An intensive 10-month course of study structured for experienced, working professionals.

  • Schedule: Delivery consists of 10 modules. Nine monthly modules are conducted in-person in Athens (Thursday through Sunday).

  • Residency Requirement: The program requires a final, culminating residential module and commencement ceremony held on the Georgetown University campus in Washington, D.C.

Experiential Requirements

  • Action Learning Project: A mandatory, team-based capstone requirement. Students apply core theoretical frameworks to diagnose and address a significant, real-world operational or strategic challenge within an active organization.

Curricular Framework

The academic curriculum is segmented into three distinct levels of analytical focus:

1. Individual Level

  • Negotiation and Conflict Management

2. Organizational Level

  • Firm Analysis and Strategy

  • Strategic Financial Management

  • Financial Statement Analysis

  • Leading Organizational Change

  • Crisis Management

3. Global Level

  • International Economic Reform and Development

  • Politics of Economic Transformation

  • Global Supply Chain Management

  • Business, Government, and the Global Economy

  • Strategic Advocacy

Students will primarily study in Athens, but also will engage in an international residency in Washington, D.C. The week-long residency provides a behind-the-scenes view of the intersection of business and government. The residency includes a mix of classroom lectures; site visits throughout the city to locations like the United States Congress, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; and interactive panel discussions with experts in energy and sustainability, foreign policy, finance, and other fields.

Students also complete a team-based Action Learning Project while in the program. The project provides an opportunity for students to actively apply learnings from the EML-G program to solve pressing issues in their organization. Each project is based on a significant challenge faced by the organization.

Academic Policies

To maintain good academic standing and graduate, students must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.000 and earn failing grades in fewer than six credits of coursework.

The program reviews each student’s academic progress and performance after each academic term. Students experiencing academic difficulty should work with the program’s Academic Director to understand the applicable requirements, available resources, and steps needed to improve their performance.

Failure to meet the program’s academic standards may result in probation, suspension, or dismissal and may affect eligibility for program scholarships and financial aid. Students should consult the EML-G Student Handbook for complete academic standards and procedures.
