Georgetown University's online Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program transforms today's best professionals into rising industry leaders. Created by the distinguished faculty of the McDonough School of Business, this world-class curriculum and blended online learning platform deliver the essential skills to take your finance career to the next level. The program is available either part-time or full-time over 21 months for the traditional track or 10 months for the (full-time) accelerated track. Georgetown undergraduate juniors may consider the accelerated pathways program for their senior year where they can take up to 12 MSF credits and count 6 MSF credits towards their undergraduate degree.

Academic Policies

Students are expected to attend weekly MSFLive case discussions and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA required for graduation.

Students are expected to attend three residencies in person:

  1. Financial Markets Residency (2 credits, mid-October in D.C.);
  2. Global Consulting Project Immersive Weekend (mid-late March in D.C.); and
  3. Global Consulting Project Residency (3 credits, mid April, international location).

Students are required to complete 32 credits of coursework, including 29 credits of core courses and 3 credits of electives. See Requirements tab above.

Students also have the option to take an approved FINC 1.5-credit MBA elective as a substitute for one of the required MSF elective courses.  

Depending on availability, students in good academic standing may be able to enroll in additional elective courses offered by the Georgetown McDonough MBA program at an additional MSF per-credit cost basis.
