Program Overview
The Master of Science in Management (MiM) is a full-time, 10-month, STEM-designated graduate program offered by the McDonough School of Business. Located on the Washington, D.C. campus, the program is designed for recent undergraduate degree holders with zero to three years of professional work experience across any academic discipline. The curriculum aligns with the initial core framework of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, focusing on foundational business operations, quantitative data analysis, and managerial strategy.

Core Management & Finance: Accounting Fundamentals, Financial Markets & Corporate Analytics, Strategic Operations, and Global Supply Chain Management.

Strategic Analysis & Marketing: Firm Analysis & Strategy, Marketing Analysis, Consulting Models & Methods, and Consumer Analytics.

Quantitative Analytics & Technology: Applied instruction in programming languages (Python and R), SQL, Tableau, big data manipulation, and artificial intelligence applications.

Experiential Learning

Global Business Experience: A mandatory, credit-bearing capstone component featuring a one-week global residency abroad during the spring semester. The requirement involves an international consulting project where students evaluate real-world challenges faced by global organizations and present strategic solutions directly to firm leadership.
With a STEM-designated Master’s in Management, you will gain the management, technology, and innovation expertise that employers’ value. Our accelerated format provides a foundational business curriculum with a focus on the application and implication of technology and innovation. Our courses combine theory and practice — you will work on consulting projects, interact with business leaders on site visits, learn programming languages such as R, and learn lessons from today’s innovative global companies. In addition, the curriculum includes a signature global business experience focused on innovation that begins as a classroom consulting project and is capped off with one week in an international location where you will be delivering client recommendations in-person.
Academic Policies
To maintain good academic standing and graduate, students must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.000 and earn failing grades in fewer than six credits of coursework.
The program reviews each student’s academic progress and performance after each academic term. Students experiencing academic difficulty should work with the program’s Academic Director to understand the applicable requirements, available resources, and steps needed to improve their performance.
Failure to meet the program’s academic standards may result in probation, suspension, or dismissal and may affect eligibility for program scholarships and financial aid. Students should consult the MiM Student Handbook for complete academic standards and procedures.
