The Nurse-Midwifery/Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (NM/WHNP) program is a Master of Science in Nursing program that specifically teaches advanced practice registered nurses how to provide primary care to individuals across the lifespan: reproductive health care during the pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum periods; sexual and gynecologic health care; family planning; preconception care; and care of newborns up to one month old.

Grounded in the Jesuit ideal of cura personalis, or care for the whole person, the program emphasizes safe, comprehensive, culturally responsive health care to transgender and gender non-binary people, and to people of all sexual orientations. In line with the mission and values of Georgetown, this midwifery program seeks to advance health equity, mitigate racism and biases, and provide structurally competent care through trauma informed, person-centered approaches.
