History Minor

The History Minor offers students the flexibility to explore the specific thematic and geographic interests that draw them to the study of the past. Students choose six courses; one of these must be numbered 3000 or above. Courses taken as part of the Core count toward the minor if the student’s school permits it. Students do not need to formally declare a minor with the History Department, but they are welcome to meet with the History DUS (HistoryDUS@georgetown.edu) to discuss course selection.

Requirements for the Minor

• At least six History courses

• One of the six must be numbered 3000 and above, and have a HIST number or be cross-listed with a course that has a HIST number

• No more than three of the six courses may be taken outside the Department (including AP credit, courses taken at other universities, and X-listed courses)
