Global Real Assets Minor
The Minor in Global Real Assets provides McDonough undergraduate students with a multidisciplinary foundation in the assets that underpin the global economy, including real estate, infrastructure and energy. Through an integrated curriculum, students develop the analytical, financial, operational, and policy expertise required to understand how these interconnected sectors are financed, developed, operated, and invested in across global markets.
Coursework explores topics such as real estate finance and investments, infrastructure investing, energy systems, urban development, and public policy. Students learn to evaluate investment opportunities, assess risk, structure transactions, and navigate the regulatory, geopolitical, and technological forces shaping the future of the built environment.
The program combines rigorous academic study with applied and experiential learning opportunities through the Clinic courses, including the Global Real Assets Clinic, which will engage students in the valuation of investment opportunities and challenges outside the continental US to obtain a truly global understanding of the built environment. The curriculum examines several emerging themes, including digital infrastructure, energy security, decarbonization, artificial intelligence, and the future of cities. Students in the program are prepared to contribute as thoughtful, ethical, and innovative leaders across a broad range of industries within the global real assets ecosystem.
Enrollment in the minor is limited. Students apply during their sophomore year through a competitive admissions process.
