International Business

A major in international business prepares students to understand and apply business skills in cross-cultural and global contexts. Students gain a competence in conducting business within and between markets and the environmental forces and policies that shape them.

Students choose between International Business Regional Studies or International Political Economy and Business. International Business Regional Studies Major gives students the opportunity to focus on the politics and economics of a particular geographical region. The International Political Economy and Business Major provides a global perspective on international business and trade and requires either study abroad or an internship.

Each major requires 18 credits (outside of the language requirement), three credits of which can count toward another McDonough School of Business major and six credits of which can, where applicable, count towards the Liberal Arts Core/Elective requirement and the successful completion of Language Proficiency equivalent to an intermediate level language (when starting with beginning level, a minimum of 12 credits or 4 semesters; note that some languages require 24 credits e.g., Chinese and Arabic).
