Disability and Academic Support Services
Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Academic Resource Center (ARC) provides accommodations for students with disabilities. Accommodations are determined on an individualized basis through an interactive process that the ARC administers. Students should submit formal requests for accommodations prior to the first day of classes for timely processing before the beginning of the semester. If students have questions about the accommodation process, or the required documents that need to be submitted, they should contact the ARC to schedule a consultation visit..
Once approved for accommodations, it is the responsibility of the studentto send their accommodation letter(s) to their faculty. This process will be reviewed between the student and the ARC staff when accommodations are approved..
Accommodations are not retroactive; students should plan to disclose their accommodations promptly at the start of each semester or promptly after the point of approval, if approval happens after the semester begins. The ARC also provides academic support services, including consultations for study skills support, custom academic workshops, and one-on-one meetings with learning skills specialists. Information about these services is available on the ARC website.
